…to not feel alone. Whether it’s in your mental health journey (we all have one!) or in your decision to remain child-free, you are not the only one traveling this road!
…improve your wellbeing. I am not an expert and will not pretend to be one! But maybe what works for me will also work for you or maybe it will inspire you to try something a bit different!
…find joy. Some days there are big, meaningful events that bring us happiness and some days we really have to search for those little rays of sunshine. But they’re there. Promise. And if you can’t see them today, that’s okay, we’ll hold on for tomorrow.

And trust starts with sharing! So here is a little bit about me and this blog and what you can expect when you visit!
This blog was started because I love to write and the blog has grown (and continues to do so) as I do. Bloggers are “supposed” to have a niche, so I suppose you could group my blog into mental health and wellness with a touch of insight on child-free living, but since it is my corner of the internet, I think I can write about whatever I darn well please 😉 This might include my love for animals (My husband and I share our home with three dogs, one hedgehog, one turtle and two poison dart frogs!), my passion for plants (I won’t even try to count them…just…there’s alot) or any number of rants.
When I was younger, I was diagnosed with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and as an adult I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression (unsurprisingly, as all three go hand in hand). I’ve always been interested in psychology, and a couple of years ago I enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts program majoring in Psychology. I’m (slowly) completing this while I work full-time, but I love it alot! Although I am by no means an expert and nothing I say on this blog should be taken as expert advice or as a replacement for speaking with a doctor or psychologist, I hope that my experiences and my growing education can provide help and support to others who may be struggling. Sometimes just knowing that someone else is going through what you are or having similar thoughts or worries to what you do can make all the difference.
My husband and I have also chosen to most likely not have children, putting us into a rather small group of married couples who choose this lifestyle. I’ve found a multitude of amazing blogs supporting moms through the incredible and crazy journey they’re on (seriously, I have so much respect for you ladies) but way less for those of us traveling the child-free road. I’ve also found that in an attempt to get a point across and stand up for ourselves, child-free individuals often come across as harsh, rude and child-hating, so I wanted to create an area of the internet where that doesn’t exist. While trying to advocate for us and our ability to choose what we want to do with our lives, I really want to try to do so in a way that doesn’t put down others who have chosen what they want for their lives.
